01Screw Coating
The PVD coating, though thin in thickness, provides high surface hardness and greatly reduces friction and wear of the screw.
02Screw Surface Roughness
The surface roughness of screw determines the screw quality together with the design of the screw. The surface roughness affects molding performance (resin feed and flow). High surface roughness reduces liquidity of resin, generating gas and carbides. The conventional methods include buffing and chrome plating after heat treatment. Recently, various coating materials and technologies have been introduced to achieve very low surface roughness. In general, the surface roughness prior to coating must be Ra -0.2 or below to obtain high quality coating.
